I came very late to sculpture. When I turned 60, I stopped what I was doing and went to live in Bangkok, Thailand for one year. There I worked in an old brass foundry well known for making Buddhas and temple bells in the old traditional Thai way.

I have always had a strong interest in  nature and ancient and contemporary cultures, not only in the Americas but from around the world which finds its way into my work. Because I started so late creating sculptures, I am more interested in producing a variety of prototypes with different styles than marketing my work.

I sometimes work in clay, make a mold then cast in either bronze or stainless steel in either a single or  very limited edition. I also work with wood, aluminum, plastic and other composite materials as well to make sculpture.

I have no interest in developing a uniform body of work as i like to explore new ideas, methods and materials.

My sculptures usually have  a story behind them. They emerge from what I have seen or read about or experienced.
